This said training serves as an introduction to DOST-FNRI Project “ANAK: DOST PINOY INTERVENTION” focused on helping the nutrition of the Filipino children improve, decreasing the cases of malnutrition.
A prayer lead by Project Assistance I (PAI) GIA, Mr. Ace Aguilar started the event at exactly 9:00 in the morning followed by the Opening Remarks given by Science Research Specialist II, Mrs. Catherine Gonda- Maniba and after that, Project Assistant II for SETUP, Ms. Grace Villalyn Saldo gave the Intoductory speech to the resource speaker, Provincial Nutrition Action officer, Mr. Rio Rosales who introduced the DOST-PINOY program and gave its overview.
The highlight of the training focuses on the discussion of the six (6) modules comprising the said program wherein Mr. Rio Rosales discussed Modules 1 and 3, Ms. Shiela Mae Jamora discussed Module 2, Modules 4-6 were discussed by the nurses in the MHO namely: April Rose Mangmang and Loriza Supremo for Module 4, Abigael G.Grcia for Module 5 while Richiele D. Garin discussed Module 6.
A pre-test and post-test had been conducted before and after the discussion of each module to test the knowledge of each BHW in a certain topic wherein different exercises expressed in games, quizzes, presentations and demos were done to make learning fun and easy. Certificates of Recognition were given to the speakers and BHWs at the Awarding Ceremony where Brenda Monteno, a BHW from Higatangan Island received a 500-peso worth of grocery package from the DOST for getting the highest total score of 159 points.
