DOST Biliran joins Biliran Women's Month Opening

The Province of Biliran opens the National Women's Month celebration with a motorcade around the Province. As advocate of Women's right, the DOST Biliran joins the entire province in the celebration.

While the DOST system-wide opening ceremonies are kicking off in the airwaves via the online media, Zoom, Facebook live, and YouTube channels today March 1, 2021, the PSTC joins the provincial activities.

This year's theme "We Make Change Work for Women: Juana Laban sa Pandemya Kaya" highlights the women's role in the survival of the communities faced with the trials of pandemic as the new millennium unfolds.

The DOST Biliran PSTC lined up activities for the month that is in line with the office programs but also highlights the big contribution of women in its accomplishment. One of which is the launching of the Water Purification Project in Higatangan Island implemented by women leaders through Hon Rosalie Arevalo, the Brgy Captain of Brgy Mabini and Mrs. Leonora Mission, the school head of Fidel Limpiado Sr. National High School, and our very own Ms. Maria Catherine Maniba, SRSII and DOST-GIA Biliran coordinator with her staff Ms. Ellen Joyce Nartia, Project Assistant I for GIA projects. We salute to this active women partners and project leaders.

SETUP activities for DOST Biliran include conduct of Training Needs Assessment (TNA) to new SETUP applicants. This program is also ably assisted by PSTC Biliran Project Assistant II Ms. Gracevillalyn Saldo, the super-woman behind Biliran SETUP projects.

We therefore honor our development partners that are women-lead and who made possible the delivery of our services more meaningful and successful.
